I was very impressed by the service I received from Confit Direct when I place an order for a selection of foie gras products in November, delivery was very quick and the items were packed securely. As these delicacies were ordered specially for Christmas we have not yet opened them so cannot write a review of the products, although I am sure they will be of the highest standard. I will be more than happy to deal its Confit Direct again in the future. (Joyce from Cornwall. Dec 2016)

Vin Jaune

The 'yellow wine' for which the Jura is best known. The Savagnin grapes are late picked and after fermentation the wine is stored in oak casks for a minimum of 6 years and 3 months. Evaporation (13cl - known as the angels' share - are lost from every 75cl, giving the odd bottle size) allows air into the cask and and a film of yeast (or voile) forms on top of the wine. In taste its nearest familiar relation would be a fine old fino sherry with a slightly nutty and spicy nose and like sherry it is drunk as an aperitif but also with nuts or foie gras.
