Chateau Laville 2011, Sauternes 37.5cl (Half Bottle) £20.40
Sauternes is the traditional accompaniment to foie gras. This award winning Sauternes is from one of the oldest vineyards of Preignac on the Ciron, produced by Jean-Christophe Barbe who is also a Professor of Oenology at the University of Bordeaux.
With a nose of orange peel, caramel and melon, golden with deep, gooey aromas of honey, spices, caramel and vanilla with, of course, lots and lots of fruit. Very full with great balance and a long citrus'y finish. Worth every penny!

Not very old as Sauternes go but eminently palatable, and it might get better, but it might not be given the chance. I am certainly encouraged to try its more mature companion as well
