Gaillac Rouge, Fût de Chêne 2008 £12.85
In order to distinguish it from its unoaked siblings this wine carries the label of Château de Gouzy (the vineyard of Mme Rouquié's retired parents and now part of Bicary). Oaked for 10 months in new barrels, the 'assemblage' of Merlot and Braucol from old vines is deep and dark ruby red. The oak is very subtle and in the background. The nose is fragrant and full. Round, full, fruity and mature in the mouth. Drink now until 2019. (Important ! Open 2/3 hours before drinking).
