Jurançon Moelleux, Clos Guirouilh 2008 (half bottle) £8.90
The perfect accompaniment to foie gras or any dessert (especially Christmas pudding) or simply an aperitif, this rich sweet wine is made by late fermenting individually picked grapes.
Vanilla, white fruits and pineapple on the nose. It achieves a good balance on the palate, with a rich, sweet texture tempered by appropriate acidity. Fresh, lemony fruit with a tropical edge. Excellent value for money.
Jurancon is a little known wine making area in the Pyrenean foothills of the Béarn, Pau being the nearest large town.
